From measurement to action
- View conditions by refrigerator, cold room or facility.
- Receive alerts under the criteria defined for your operation.
- Collect records for event investigations and internal audits.
Healthcare, pharmacies and labs in Chile: IoT temperature, humidity and cold chain monitoring with alerts and records by equipment and site.
Improve visibility into storage conditions for medicines, samples and sensitive products. Define control points and owners with your team so records are available and deviations receive attention.
We assess critical points, agree thresholds and configure sensors, dashboards and alerts. The project defines owners, connectivity, commissioning and available integrations.
Scope is assessed against applicable MINSAL / ISP requirements, including Norma Técnica Nº 147 where relevant. The platform provides records and does not replace establishment validation, calibration or procedures.
These parameters are reference options for project design, depending on the sensor model, gateway and installation. The technical proposal confirms the equipment, measurement ranges, accuracy, coverage, battery life and integrations included; the values do not all describe a single device.
It can automate collection and access to records for monitoring points included in the project, with alerts and history. The reporting interval, thresholds, responsible staff and review procedures are defined with the operator.
Monitoring alone does not guarantee compliance. Records support procedures, traceability and audits; compliance also depends on suitable equipment, calibration, validation, product storage and the establishment’s actions.
No. Radio range, measurement range, accuracy and battery life depend on the model and installation. They are confirmed during the technical assessment and in the proposal before deployment.
| Parameter | Reference option | Validation condition |
|---|---|---|
| Sensor network | LoRaWAN AU915 (915–928 MHz, SUBTEL Chile) | Wireless network independent of local WiFi. Channel plan, power and equipment must meet applicable SUBTEL provisions. AU915 alone is not Chilean certification. |
| Radio range | 2–5 km in industrial environments; up to 15 km in open fields | Design references subject to a coverage survey and testing. Metal, cold rooms, obstacles, antennas and line of sight may reduce range; distances are not guaranteed. |
| Gateway and backup | 4G/LTE Dual-SIM multi-carrier gateways with 8–24 h UPS battery backup | Independent of local WiFi. Depends on model, load, battery capacity and carrier coverage. Backup power does not ensure cellular connectivity. |
| Temperature and accuracy | PT100/digital probes from −40 °C to +125 °C; reference accuracy ±0.2 °C | Depends on probe model, measurement interval and calibration. Verify range and accuracy together in the datasheet; ±0.2 °C is not assumed across the entire range. |
| Environmental protection | IP67 / IP68 options | Depends on equipment, connectors and installation. Confirm the manufacturer’s immersion depth and duration limits. |
| Sensor battery life | Sensor with lithium battery; reference life of 3 to 5 years | Depends on model, temperature, reporting interval, coverage and retransmissions. Validate battery estimates for each monitoring point. |
| Industrial integration | Modbus RTU (RS485), Modbus TCP, 4–20 mA signals and dry contact | Depends on equipment interfaces, available registers and the gateway or integration work included in scope. |
| Software integration | REST API / Webhooks | Define systems, permissions, events and frequency for the project. Compatibility does not mean an integration is already enabled. |
| LoRaWAN security | LoRaWAN AES-128 cryptographic mechanisms | Depends on protocol version, provisioning and key management. This protocol reference does not establish end-to-end encryption of the entire solution. |
| Transport security | TLS 1.3 transport for REST API and Webhooks | Verify TLS 1.3 negotiation and compatibility for the endpoints and destinations included in the project. TLS protects transport; AES-128 here describes the LoRaWAN scope and is not asserted as the TLS algorithm. |
Indicative comparison of typical configurations. Dataloggers and PLCs may gain additional capabilities through connectivity, software and integrations.
| Aspect | Xpit Connect (cloud 4G/LoRaWAN IoT) | Paper logs | USB datalogger | Wired PLC system |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Data collection | Automatic at the configured interval | Manual measurement and recordkeeping | Automatic local recording depending on model | Automatic from wired signals |
| Remote access | Dashboard when connectivity is available | Records must be collected or digitized | Usually requires a local USB download | Requires configured HMI, SCADA or remote access |
| Alerts | Rules and channels configured per project | Depend on staff review and notification | Local indicator or alarm depending on model | Local logic; remote alerts depend on integration |
| History and audits | One year of history under the published service | Manual filing and review of paper logs | File downloads and retention procedures | Retention and reporting depend on the installed system |
| Installation | Wireless sensors and gateway subject to assessment | Procedures, instruments and staff training | Logger placement and periodic downloads | Wiring, programming and control engineering |
| Continuity | Validate power, coverage and local storage | Depends on staff availability | Memory and battery depend on model | Depends on system power, network and backup |
Temperature records can support the establishment’s procedures and review by the health authority, including SEREMI de Salud. HACCP applies according to the activity and relevant requirements; the software does not certify a food-safety system.
No. 147 addresses good storage and distribution practices for pharmaceutical distributors and human-use pharmaceutical product depots. Assess applicability to the establishment and product; it does not certify Xpit Connect.
Where a water abstraction is subject to MEE, review the applicable resolutions, variables, frequency and transmission formats required by DGA. General agricultural monitoring is not equivalent to regulatory reporting and does not establish that XPIT is a registered control center.
No. Records support supervision and traceability, while compliance depends on applicable requirements, validation, calibration and establishment procedures.
Yes. Xpit Connect organizes data by site, zone or equipment to review conditions and alerts according to the scope configured for your operation.
