Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about implementation, integrations, and scaling Xpit Connect.
How long does implementation take?
It depends on scope, but as a reference: a single-site project is up and running in about 2 weeks. Most of the devices we install are wireless, so installation is fast and non-invasive for your operation. And if you prefer to validate before scaling, you can start with an optional pilot of up to 4 weeks.
What does the service include?
It is a turnkey service. Every implementation includes:
- Sensors installed, configured, and running
- Real-time dashboards in Xpit Connect
- 24/7 monitoring of every control point
- Alerts via Slack, WhatsApp, or email
- One year of data history
- Remote support and onboarding assistance
How much does it cost?
Every project is quoted individually, but as a reference (UF is Chile’s inflation-indexed unit):
- Equipment and installation: from 18 UF + VAT per site (one-time initial payment)
- Platform: from 2 UF + VAT per site per month
- Minimum monthly billing per client: 4.5 UF + VAT
Which areas of Chile do you cover?
We install and provide support across all of Chile, from Arica to Punta Arenas.
What technologies do the devices use?
Mainly LoRaWAN and 4G:
- LoRaWAN enables sensors with years of battery life and long range, transmitting from cold rooms, warehouses, and basements.
- The gateway sends data to the cloud over 4G, so the network runs independently of your site’s infrastructure.
Do the sensors work over Wi-Fi?
No, by design. For a sensor network, Wi-Fi has several problems:
- Short range and poor penetration into cold rooms and metal warehouses
- It drains sensor batteries quickly
- It depends on your local network: if the internet drops, the password changes, or the network saturates, you lose monitoring exactly when you need it most
With LoRaWAN and 4G the sensor network runs autonomously, without touching your internal network.
Can Xpit Connect integrate with existing systems?
Yes. We integrate with APIs, ERP, BI, and operational platforms to avoid data silos.
Can we start with one use case and scale later?
Yes. We design modular rollouts so you can scale in phases without losing continuity. Plus, the same gateway we install in the initial phase can support thousands of connected devices, which makes scaling easy — no need to rebuild the infrastructure.
